As Weekend Ramblers, my husband and I have visited these trails a time or two and compiled the list we have been on for my positivity journal this month. They are shown in my corresponding YouTube video here at time 1:40. How many have you traveled on? When we homeschooled, we would take a field trip on the weekends to find and read historical markers as enrichment material. You can find many of them listed on this website. My husband and I joined the KCAHTA last year to learn more about the Historic Trails in our area.
Boone's Lick Trail -- if you wish to read more about Daniel Boone, click here.
Butterfield Overland Mail Route
Denver-Canadian-Dallas highway - read about Postle, Oklahoma, a tiny town on this early road
Lewis and Clark - you may read about George Sibley, who was in charge of Fort Osage on the Missouri River.
Military Road from Ft. Leavenworth to Ft. Scott, Kansas
Pony Express Route - you may wish to read about Alexander Majors.
Santa Fe Trail or National Frontier Trails Center
