TEXAS CO. WOMAN HURT IN WRECK
Car overturns East of Elkhart Monday Afternoon on State Line
Mrs. John Ullom was painfully shaken up and bruised Monday evening about 4 o'clock when the Ullom Chevrolet overturned near the Howard Kern corner just south of the State Line some 9 miles east of Elkhart. She was able to extricate herself and summon help. Her daughter, Norma Jean, aged 14 was unhurt except for a few scratches. A broken tie-rod apparently caused the reck which occurred when the car struck a badly rutted mud hole on the township road. Mr. Ullom is considered a suit against the Texas County commissioners since the road is maintained by the county under the unit system. Although frequent complaints have been made, the condition of that stretch of road, no maintenance is afforded, Mr. Ullom said. The tie-rod alone would have cause little or no havoc at the speed driven if the road had been in proper condition Mr. Ullom says.

MR. and MRS. JOHN MAYNARD ULLOM
In a double ring ceremony on Sunday Miss Rhonda Faith Archer, Boise City, became the bride of Mr. John Maynard Ullom, Guymon, in the First Baptist Church, Guymon. Rev. Earl Chesnut, pastor of the Church of God, Elkhart, Kans., officiated at the 3 pm ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Archer, Boise City. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ullom, Guymon.
Traditional wedding music was presented by Mrs. Robert O'Neal, Kansas City, Kans., who accompanied Mrs. Bill Webber, Guymon, as she sang "Oh Day of Golden Promise," "I'll Walk Beside You," "Whither Thou Goest," and "The Wedding Prayer".
The ceremony was performed before an archway of huckleberry scattered with bronze colored pompom chrysanthemums and flanked with candelabra holding white tapers. Large baskets of bronze chrysanthemums stood on either side of the candelabra.

Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a formal gown of white imported Chantilly lace designed with a fitted bodice, featuring a Sabrina scalloped neckline, enhanced by seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The long sleeves terminated to a point at the wrist. The bouffant skirt of lace tapered to the back over a cascade of tulle ruffles extending to the hemline. Her scalloped finger-tip veil of French illusion fell from a calot cape of iridescent sequins and seed pearls. She wore a single strand of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom and carried a bouquet of white rosebuds centered with a white orchid atop a Bible with cascading satin streamers entwined with net hearts centered with pearls.

Mrs. Elza Osburn, Jr., Amarillo, sister of the bride was matron of honor. She wore a rust colored sheath dress with matching cummerbund and ash. Bridesmaids were Mrs. A.D. Edens and Miss B. Carter, both of Guymon, who wore Spanish gold and foam green sheath dresses style of fashion after that of the matron of honor. They carried copper colored satin and cymbidium net colonial holders filled with champagne carnations.

The flower girl, Miss L. Hill, Liberal, was dressed in a brown princess styled dress, and scattered champagne colored carnations along the bridal path.

Candle lighters were Miss L. M. Archer, Boise City and Miss L. L. Kerns, Elkhart, Kans. They wore carnation wristlets of fall tones and carried tapers entwined with bronze ribbon and net. They wore gold colored princess styled dresses. Ringbearer was Master J. Jacobs, Guymon.

Serving as best man was Mr. Wiley Osborn, Elkhart, Kans. Groomsmen were Mr. Robert O'Neal, Kansas City, Kans. and Mr. L. Haar, Elkhart, Kans. Ushers were Mr. E. Osburn, Jr., Amarillo, and Mr. F. Hill, Liberal.
A reception was held in Fellowship Hall immediately following the ceremony. Hostesses were Mrs. R.C. Yarberry, Mrs. Ernest Waldrop, Mrs. E.L. Buford, and Mrs. D.K. Adams. Mrs. Wayne Booth poured the punch and Mrs. Gerald McDonald served the cake from a table covered with a white linen cloth centered with an arrangement of bronze chrysanthemums with scattered buckskin pompom chrysanthemums throughout. This was flanked with twin candelabra holding white tapers entwined with ivy. One end of the table held the three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom and decorated with cornucopia on each tier. The base of the cake was a mirror surrounded with lace and satin. Crystal and silver completed the table setting.
After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home north of Guymon where he is engaged in farming.
